Major(s) and Minor: English Major and Organizational Leadership Minor
Why did you choose Organizational Leadership as your minor?
I was seeking an opportunity to develop a better skill set for structured organizations. Being able to work cooperatively with others, learning to exchange and share while backing the same mission was the ideal takeaway.
What is your current position, what do you, and what do you enjoy most about it?
Currently, I am the onsite leader for the NJ office of the Bulk Division for Schneider National. I work with the best team! We have a strong understanding of each other, enjoy our work while making safety our priority.
What was your first job after Rutgers and how did you get it?
When I first started Rutgers, I was working for the same organization from today. However, I was promoted to the onsite leader by the end of my college career.
How did you move from that first job to your current position?
Long hours, hard work, becoming a stronger leader!
Looking back, what classes or experiences at Rutgers would you point to as contributing to your successes?
Each course of the Organizational Leadership minor was extremely beneficial is molding me to not only a better leader, but in my personal growth. I recognized that what I offer and hope from personal relationships with loved ones; respect, integrity and love, does not need to be stripped in my professional roles. On the contrary, the value of love as a leader is necessary!
What advice do you have for our current Arts and Sciences students?
Immerse yourself in your studies. To make the best of this valuable time, set it as a priority to not just hear what is taught but to absorb, retain the knowledge and experiences shared. Use it to better your world.
